Microneedling frequency: What you should know
Microneedling works by controlled injury. Spacing sessions correctly is what turns that into collagen instead of irritation.
Why spacing matters
Each session creates thousands of micro-channels that trigger a repair response. That response runs for weeks. Treating again before it completes interrupts the process rather than compounding it.
More frequent is not better.
Typical intervals
- General skin quality — every four to six weeks
- Acne scarring — every six weeks, across a longer course
- With radiofrequency — every six to eight weeks
- Maintenance — two or three times a year
Signs you are going too often
Persistent redness, increased sensitivity or skin that feels thinner rather than firmer all suggest the interval is too short.
If that is happening, the answer is to pause, not to push.
Getting more from each session
Results depend heavily on what you do between appointments: sun protection, a simple barrier-supporting routine, and leaving actives off for a few days afterwards.
We will set that out for you at your first session.
