Hair laser removal Miami: Essential tips before booking your session
A few things done before your first laser hair removal appointment make a noticeable difference to the result.
Before you book
Laser targets pigment in the hair, which means the contrast between hair and skin matters, and so does the growth cycle. Only follicles in the active phase respond, which is why a course is required rather than one visit.
Ask which device will be used on your skin type. Not every laser is appropriate for every Fitzpatrick type.
Preparing for the session
- Shave the area the day before — do not wax or pluck
- Avoid sun exposure and self-tan for two weeks
- Come with clean skin, no lotion or deodorant on the area
- Mention any medication that increases light sensitivity
What the session feels like
Most people describe a quick snap with a cooling sensation. Small areas take minutes; larger areas such as legs or back take longer.
Mild redness around the follicles afterwards is normal and settles within a day.
How many sessions
Six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is typical, with occasional maintenance afterwards. Hormonal factors can extend that, particularly on the face.
We will give you a realistic number at consultation rather than an optimistic one.
